Hello all,

I've just phoned Julie (Clare's friend who was with her in Dublin when the illness began, and who is with her everyday in hospital). Clare was moved to the oncology ward today and was back to the Clare that we all know and love. Ordering Julie around and even asking for her mobile. For the first time in six days, Clare finally slept.

Yesterday was a really frightning day with Clare hallucanating and in too much pain. Julie said that she is on such a high tonight that she saw a glimps of the Clare she knows, again ordering her about and even asking for her mobile.

But the doctors had told Clare over the weekend that the cancer was not curable. Clare's reaction was no to Chemo and that if she had a heart attack that she did not want to be revived. Her step father Sid and mother Anne do not know that the cancer has spread to her lungs, not that Clare is hiding things. I am sure they will be told. Because of this they have asked Clare to seek any form of treatment and Sid explained that as she has been in so much pain and only just recovering from surgery that maybe she should hold off on her decision until she starts getting stronger.

Today is a ray of light. Julie did make me laugh though, saying that Clare would be telling her off tommorow because her mobile will be full to the brim with messages. I'm holding off texting her until tommorow afternoon. I wasn't going to at all as I can't begin to understand the level of exhaustion that she is at. The last thing I want to do is burden her.

I know that you are all praying for her. Keep up the good work.

Much love

Anne X
